KDKhR-1N Dal chem recon vehicle

The KDKhR-1N (Kompleks nazemnoy Distantsionnoy Khimicheskoy Razvedki - Complex for Long-range Chemical Reconnaissance) vehicle fielded by the Russian army employs a 360-rotating turret laser to scan for minute amounts of ambient CW agents. Developed in the scientific and production association "Astrophysics". Complex KDHR-1N was developed in the scientific and production association "Astrophysics". In 1988, the machine was adopted by the Soviet Army.

The main purpose of KDHR-1H is remote detection and observation of chemical contamination of the ground layer of the atmosphere. The complex allows detecting aerosols of toxic substances. A laser locator is used for detection. For each cycle the machine allows control the area of up to 70 square km. The time of one cycle is 60 seconds. When a poison cloud is detected, the machine determines the coordinates, as well as the linear dimensions of the cloud, and generates warning signals. The time of issuing the coordinates and dimensions of the cloud with toxic substances does not exceed 10 seconds, while the error in measuring the range and depth of the cloud is not more than 30 meters. In addition, KDKhR-1N is equipped with an automatic gas detector GSA-12 and a semi-automatic gas detector PGO-11.

In addition, there is the possibility of conducting radiation reconnaissance, for this purpose the meter has a dose rate meter IMD-21B, as well as individual and collective protection of the crew. the total operating time of KDHR-1N in automatic mode without refueling is up to 130 hours, and after making a trip for 500 km - up to 3 hours.

When working on the ground, KDHR-1N is able to use the equipment of the topography TNA-4-6. Communication with the command is provided by the built-in radio stations P-123 and P-171. All equipment of the machine is placed on the multipurpose lightly armored chassis MT-LBU. During the state tests the complex showed high efficiency when detecting and determining the parameters of aerosols of toxic substances. At the time of adoption, KDHR-1N was the first and unique in its class of complex.
