Region FSUE GNPP

"Region" Scientific & Production Enterprise JSC develops and supplies aerial bombs for front aviation. The company also offers research and development in the field of aerodynamics and hydrodynamics of high-speed underwater vehicles, underwater missile jets, integrated information control, and homing systems for underwater craft. The company also manufactures electronic systems for precision artillery, missile and anti-tank armaments, homing heads, onboard heat imaging and radar equipment, and communication control systems. The company was founded in 1969 and is based in Moscow, Russia. "Region" Scientific & Production Enterprise JSC operates as a subsidiary of Tactical Missiles Corporation.

The company «Region» is one of the leading enterprises that designs high-precision guided weapon. The JSC «SRPE «Region» mainly focuses on searching and introducing of the newest scientific achievements and high technology in designing underwater dredges, controlled and correcting aircrafts. At the present company Region continues its works on designing antitorpedo protection devices for subsurface ships and antisubmarine warfare equipment, remote controlled mine location detector of mine barriers, next-generation corrective air bombs. The company updates available weapon samples «Shkhval-E», APR-3E, corrective air bombs with 500 kg and 1500 kg caliber with technical characteristics being improved.

Currently, the project development of JSC "GNNP" Region "are conducted in three main technical areas:

• naval weapons, placed on aircraft and ship carriers, autonomous means of mine protection;
• high-speed submarine missiles (SPR);
• adjustable aerial bombs (KAB);
• guided bombs (UAB).

On May 14, 1969, according to the Decree of the Central Committee of the CPSU and the USSR Council of December 26, 1968 No. 1044-331 by the Order of the Minister of Mechanical Engineering of the USSR of May 14, 1969 No. 170 based on the Scientific Research Machine-Building Institute No. 24 and the State All-Union Design Bureau of Instrument Making No. 47 The Research Institute of Applied Hydromechanics (SRI PGM) was established.

In 1969, the Scientific Research Institute PGM was created as a developer of guided weapons for the Navy. Technical directions of development: high-speed submarine missiles (SPR) and anti-aircraft missiles (APR). High-speed underwater missiles were created on the basis of advances in the implementation of controlled motion in the advanced cavitation mode and the use of energy-intensive hydro-jet engines. Aviation anti-submarine missiles implement the principle of speed, using unconventional technical solutions and advances in the field of underwater acoustics. In the process of development of this direction, the APR began to be equipped with turbo-vometotnymi engines.

In subsequent years, in accordance with the Government’s Decisions and according to the technical assignments of the Ministry of Defense, Region Region JSC began to develop high-precision weapons for the Air Force — adjustable air bombs (CAB), active protection systems for surface ships and submarines, and autonomous remote-controlled mine detectors anti-mine systems (PMK).

Corrected aerial bombs are one of the most high-precision weapons of the Air Force of Russia. Correction trajectories KABov carried out by laser illumination of the target, on the television channel guidance, as well as using other original engineering solutions. Anti-submarine complex "Package-E / NK" with a small anti-submarine torpedo and anti-torpedo autonomously or as part of the ship's circuit of anti-submarine defense and anti-torpedo defense allows to effectively repel attacks of submarines of a potential enemy and has no equal in the world.

In 1980 NII PGM was reorganized into the Region Scientific and Production Association. In 1992, the NPO Region was reorganized into the State Research and Production Enterprise Region. In 1999 the State Scientific Production Enterprise "Region" was reorganized into the Federal State Unitary Enterprise "State Scientific-Production Enterprise "Region".

In 2005, the FSUE “GNPP Region” was reorganized into the Open Joint-Stock Company State Research and Production Enterprise “Region” and by the decree of the President of the Russian Federation was incorporated into the enterprises of the Tactical Missile Weapons Corporation. In 2015, OAO GNPP Region was reorganized into Joint-Stock Company State Research and Production Enterprise Region.
