Project 1077 radar patrol helicopter carrier
To control the nascent huge fleet, balanced and powerful, special ships were required, the development of which was carried out by the Northern Design Bureau. Since 1972, a squadron ship of the project 1077 radar patrol helicopter carrier was developed, it is also a head ship. Standard displacement of 10,000 tons, dimensions of 186 x20 m, speed of 30 knots, 4 Ka-27 helicopters, 2 M-22 Uragan missile launcher, 100 mm AK-100 AC, 4 30 mm AK-630 AC, Osa- M ". In 1977, the more advanced project 1077 appeared. The displacement amounted to 10,800 / 12,910 tons, dimensions 202x22 m. Six Ka-27 helicopters were already based on it. The daggers anticipated at the beginning of 6 were replaced by the Fort. Armament: SAM “Dagger”, 130 mm AK-130, 4 30 mm AK-630, 2x5 533 mm TA, Fregat-M and Tackle radar. These were essentially missile cruisers. “Speed” is a medium-range solid-fuel ballistic missile. Development began at the Moscow Institute of Heat Engineering under the leadership of Alexander Nadiradze in 1982. Development was completed in 1986. Flight design tests began at the Kapustin Yar training ground on March 1, 1987. It had a maximum range of 4000 km and could be equipped with both nuclear and non-nuclear warheads. The basis for the rocket was the second and third stages of the RS-12M and the warhead with three warheads from the RSD-10. In total, 10 missiles and 30 warheads were built, which were soon eliminated in accordance with the INF Treaty. Unfortunately, very little is known about this missile system. To develop this theme, the Northern Design Bureau developed a new conceptual ship - a headquarters squadron ship with powerful aviation cover. Development was conducted in 1981–1983. Then further development was transferred to the Nevsky Design Bureau, as the most specialized on this topic. It turned out to be a smooth-deck ship - both a staff and radar patrol, and a carrier of a large number of aircraft and helicopters. After completing the entire shipbuilding program, by 2005 the Soviet Union would have a powerful, well-balanced Navy, which is not inferior in strength to the most powerful fleet in the world - the US Navy.
