604th Infantry Brigade, 6th Infantry Division
"Spearhead"

The mission of the 604th Infantry Brigade, 6th Infantry Division, Philippine Army is to conduct sustained internal security operations in the AOR to contain the MILF, destroy the KFRG and other ALGS, secure the population and assist the LGUS and other government institutions in the performance of their mandate in order to establish a physically and psychologically secured environment conducive to development. The mission also includes a mandate to improve and stabilize the internal security and peace and order situation in the area through the conduct of more effective security operations so far as to destroy and neutralize criminal elements and syndicates. A civil affairs mission also exists to secure the direct participation of government institutions and other agencies, to include NGOs, in the successful accomplishment of the objective.

As of 2005 the 604th Infantry Brigade consisted of its Headquarters and Headquarters Service Company, various support units, and the 7th, 64th, and 66th Infantry Battalions placed under its operational control. Also assigned was Task Force Talakudong to coordinate operations by PNP, CAFGU, and CAA operations in support of the Brigade's mission.
