Ra'ad [Thunder] / Haft-8 ALCM

Pakistan has developed and deployed the heavier subsonic Ra’ad [Thunder] / Haft-8 ALCM (Air Launched Cruise Missile) with an estimated limited range of 350 kilometers with a 300-500 kilogram estimated payload. It underwent its first flight test on August 25, 2007 and has been deployed since December 2007. It resembles an aircraft with a squared off body cross-section with wings and a twin vertical stabilizer on the ends of the rear wing design. Presumably it is designed to operate at a much higher air launched altitude before target engagement. Its guidance system is apparently very similar to the Babur / Haft-7 altitude terrain hugging map following inertial navigation guidance system. It is said to be capable of carrying nuclear ordnance.
