INJ Shokaku Light Aircraft Carrier
The Shokaku was ordered for construction under the Japanese 8-8 Fleet plan with the expectation of completion in 1922 or 1923. A sister ship to the Hosho, she was to be the heaviest carrier yet for the Imperial Navy at 12,500 tons. Construction of the Shokaku was cancelled in Feruary, 1922, after Japan signed the Washington Naval Treaty.
