CH-47J Chinook
Boeing & Kawasaki Heavy Industries co - produced the Chinook in Gifu, Japan to procure near 50 units to the Japanese Ground and Air Self-Defense forces. This is a large-sized tandem rotor type helicopter. Having the most stabilized hovering functions in the sky, it is most suitable for transporting heavy materials. Actually, it can even load a car through the back loading gate.
The 1st Helicopter Brigade of the JGSDF operates 32 CH-47J/JA Chinooks, manufactured by Kawasaki Heavy Industries under license from Boeing since its first delivery in 1988. The fleet participates in disaster recoveries, transportation support, and combat support training.
