Variants
  • XC-1 - prototype. Built in 1 copy.
  • C-1 / C-1A - basic modification for the Air Self-Defense Forces. Built 29 copies. Mass production machine. 29 mass-produced aircraft (# 003 to 031) and 5 final-produced aircraft (# 027 to 031) installed a 1250 gallon (4730 liter) drop tank in the central wing for flight to Okinawa . # 021 Unit 1 was remodeled to EC-1. Lost 4 aircraft (# 009 · 010 · 015 · 027)
  • EC-1 is a training modification of an electronic warfare aircraft . The aircraft was upgraded from among the combatants. Built in 1 copy. Large antenna fairings are installed on the nose and the rear of the fuselage, and two small antenna fairings are installed on the left and right sides of the fuselage to transmit jamming radio waves to the surroundings. The front lower portion of the fuselage chaff can be installed pods. Remodeled in 1984 (Showa 59). Development to improve the capacity of J / ALQ-5 was carried out from 2002 ( 2002 ) to 2009 ( 2009 ), and from 2011 ( 2011 ), J / ALQ-5 was revised.
  • C-1FTB is a flying laboratory. The aircraft was upgraded from a prototype. Built in 1 copy. FTB stands for Flying Test Bed. The exterior remains the original silver paint and features a long measuring probe mounted on the nose (hence no weather radar). The cabin has also been refurbished for experimental flight. Use this plane, T-4 moderate exercise machine of F3 , Asuka of FJR710 / 600S , P-1 patrol aircraft of XF7-10 each said that the engine of air test has been performed (this time, the test engine Since it is added to one wing, only one wing looks like a three-engine aircraft with two engines.) In addition to the engine, it is also used for testing missile parts and aircraft equipment. Deployed to the Flight Development Experiment Team ( Gifu Base ).
  • Asuka is an experimental version of a short take-off and landing transport aircraft based on the Kawasaki C-1 airframe, equipped with four turbojet engines and using the Coanda effect. The only one built is in the museum in Gifu, Japan. The major design requirements for ASKA were: Landing approach at 72kts and -6 degrees flight path; Take off and landing distances are less than 3,000ft; and No less than 0.5 Mach for the high speed cpability
