Squadron Mark - When the 4th fleet squadron was established in 1963, the P-2V-7 aircrafts were being used. The nickname of the P-2V-7 was "Giant Eagle," and the squadron mark was designed based on it. When P-3C began to replace the P-2V-7 in 1986, the mark was also revised to have black as its base color to match the call sign of the 4th fleet squadron, "Blacky."
