1st Mixed Group

The 1st mixed group, in order to protect the peace of the Okinawa prefecture, protect people and safety, day and night, to conduct training which is harsh. In addition, various activities are conducted, such as correspondence and bomb disposal, urgent patient air transport, and responding to large-scale disaster, are done as a contribution to the community.

Training includes Usual training; Ranger training; Anti- guerrilla warfare training; The Japanese-American joint training; Training in the foreign country; Conformity extra Self-Defense Official training; Extra Self-Defense Official training; and New soldier training.

The 1st mixed group was formed March 1st, 1972, the year of Okinawa mainland return in the north Kumamoto camp as the basic unit of southwest overland defense. The headquarters was formed March 27th of 1973 as a temporary 1st mixed group preparation headquarters detachment management group start. October 16th of 1973 1st mixture group headquarters detachment formation completion (communication group formation completion). August 1st of 1978 1st mixed group headquarters detachment counterintelligence corps to western direction party counterintelligence corps formation. March 25th of 1982 band to 1st mixed group headquarters detachment formation. March 25th of 1986 communication group in communication platoon reorganization. March 29th of 1996 1st mixture group headquarters detachment reorganization (party headquarters, group headquarters duty group, communication platoon and preservation military police).
