Eilat

The port of Eilat is located near the southern end of Israel's border. The port contains over 350,000 square meters of open storage space as well as five beach cranes capable of lifting various multi-ton loads. The Israeli Navy began using the port of Eilat in 1951 and served as the headquarters of Red Sea operations during the early 1980s. Its location has allowed Israel to foil many smuggling attempts from neighboring countries.
