16th Jerusalem Brigade
The 16th Jerusalem Brigade participated in the Six Day War of 1967 and was commanded at that time by Colonel Eliezer Amitai. During the war, the brigade played an important as one of the two primary brigades operating in Jerusalem and the surrounding area combating the opposing Jordanian forces. The brigade moved quickly through Jerusalem and also captured the cities of Bethlehem, Etzion, and Hebron.
