Special Operations Force

The Iraqi Special Operations Force as of April, 2005 consisted of the 36th Commando Battalion, Counterterrorism battalion, and an intended "Support" Battalion. The Iraqi Special Operations Force, which is the Iraqi Armed Forces' high-end strike force resembling U.S. Army Special Forces units, has continued to train and operate throughout Iraq with multinational force assistance.

Elements of the Iraqi Special Operations Force were among those in the assault on Fallujah in November 2004, including five Iraqi army battalions, Special Police Commando Battalions, and Iraqi National Guard elements.
