Harischi Class Inshore Minesweeper
In 1964 Iran received two MSI-13 class (sometimes referred to as Cape class) inshore minesweepers under the Military Assistance Program. These ships had a loaded displacement of 120 tons and were powered by four diesel engines generating 946 hp and turning twin screws. Top speed of 12.5 knots. A single 12.7mm machine gun was provided for self defense.
The two ships, MSI-13 and MSI-14, were renamed the Harischi and Riazi in Iranian service respectively. The Harischi was destroyed during the Iran-Iraq War in 1981, but the Riazi was listed as in active service in 2008.
