ASTINAVE. E. P - Astilleros Navales Ecuatorianos
Astilleros Navales Ecuatorianos, commonly known as Astinave, is a state-owned Ecuadorian company that was created with Supreme Decree 1513 from December 29th, 1972. It operates in the marine sector of the country by providing vessel construction and maintenance services, including electronic on-board solutions, as well as it provides support services for the maritime transportation industry.
As a result of teamwork and its constant contribution to strengthening the development of the national maritime industry, Ecuadorian Naval Shipyards –ASTINAVE EP, received the Certification in Integrated Management Systems: ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 as well as the “Hace Good”, which makes the company more competitive in the shipping sector and opens the doors to an increasingly demanding international market.
On the occasion of the fourth session of the Board of Directors of ASTINAVE EP, Commander Camilo Delgado Montenegro, general manager, delivered to each of the representatives of the State, the certifications granted to companies that comply with international standards corresponding to management of: Quality (ISO 9001), Environment (ISO 14001) and, Occupational Health and Safety (OHSAS 18001), thus capturing its commitment to deliver better comprehensive solutions in support of the Defense, Security and Maritime Industrial Sector.
With the presence of Dr. Anabell Argüello Suárez, permanent delegate of the Ministry of Defense and president of the Board of Directors; Vice Admiral Luis Santiago Chávez, Commander General of the Navy; Vice Admiral Ángel Sarzosa Aguirre, permanent delegate of the Joint Command of the Ecuadorian Armed Forces; MGS. Carla Báez, delegate of the National Secretariat for Planning and Development –SENPLADES and Ing. Diego Borja, delegate of the Coordinating Ministry of Production, Employment and Competitiveness –MCPEC, formally announced the obtaining of these recognitions.
To these three international certifications, the Shipyard as a leader in the Ecuadorian naval market, also received the "Does Well" Seal, granted by the Ministry of Industries and Productivity, being publicly recognized for complying with the legal and regulatory provisions that regulate the four ethics Business: Workers, Community-Clients- Suppliers, Government and Environment, in addition to the emphasis reached on their production lines.
Effort and commitment cannot be faked, the results are not a coincidence. Strategic actions such as implementing and strengthening an Integrated Management System (GIS), allow delivery of products and services with one hundred percent Ecuadorian labor, which implies a strong commitment to excellence and professionalism
