Won Ung Hui
Commander of the Security Command (General)

Won Ung Hui is a third-generation revolutionary. He served as a member of the Political Committee of the Air Command until 1990, and has since been the Commander of the Security Command of the People's Army. In the latter position, he played a key role in overseeing surveillance activities within the military. At the end of 1992, he received an unprecedented promotion, moving from Lieutenant General to General, in recognition of his role in exposing the so-called Prunsch Incident involving disenchanted officers who had studied in the Soviet Union. He is responsible for the important task of protecting Kim Jong Il's personal safety during Kim's trips to military installations and ensuring social stability.

Due to the nature of his position, his work history is classified information.
