Kim Myung Guk
Head of the Mechanized Army Corps (General)
Kim Myung Guk served as the Director of the Operations Bureau of the Office of the General Staff in 1994, and is an expert in military operation planning. He also planned and orchestrated the military parade commemorating the 60th anniversary of the founding of the military in April 1992, and the 50th anniversary of the founding of the party in October 1995.
Although he is known to enjoy the absolute trust of Kim Jong Il, he has remained in the relatively low-key position of the Head of the Mechanized Army Corps since late 1996.
He served as a member of the 9th and 10th Supreme People's Assemblies, and was elected a member of the Central Committee of the Korean Worker's Party in 1991. He was promoted to General in April 1994.
