ZR-1500
On 08 November 2022, the 14th China International Aviation and Aerospace Expo opened in Zhuhai, Guangdong. At this air show, the anti-drone system displayed for the first time attracted a lot of attention. At present, drones are very active in local wars around the world. Take the raging conflict between Russia and Ukraine as an example. The two sides put various drones into the battlefield and staged a fierce contest. The Russian army dispatched suicide drones to carry out large-scale strikes on Ukrainian infrastructure; while the Ukrainian TB-2 drones frequently attacked Russian military personnel, tanks, armored vehicles and other targets.
With the popularization and shelves of UAV technology, attack UAVs and loiter bombs converted from model airplanes and consumer-grade UAVs are showing a "blowout" trend. Such slow and small UAVs are difficult to detect, The characteristics of small targets, high efficiency, and low cost have brought many new challenges to the traditional air defense combat system and urban security that mainly intercept manned aircraft and missiles. In view of the fact that it is increasingly difficult for a single piece of equipment to deal with the "swarm" attack, it has become an inevitable choice to build an anti-drone system with multiple types of equipment. In this field, China is at the forefront of the world.
The ZR-1500 multi-purpose unmanned intelligent defense weapon system also made many people stop and watch. The system adopts a general unmanned chassis and multi-type modular combat weapons in the form of optional integration on demand, and performs integrated combat missions of reconnaissance and strike. This type of unmanned combat vehicle is equipped with three types of micro-missile modules. It not only has the air defense capability of effectively intercepting targets such as fixed-wing aircraft, helicopters, and drones at a distance of 5 kilometers, but also has the ability to effectively intercept mobile light armored targets and A ground attack capability for precision guided strikes against personnel targets. Under a typical firepower configuration, this unmanned combat vehicle can contain 12 miniature missiles, 4 small missiles and 2 patrol missiles integrated with surveillance and strike. It can also be equipped with weapon systems such as machine guns according to the needs of combat missions.
It is reported that this unmanned combat vehicle system only needs two people to complete the operation. One person is responsible for remotely controlling the driving of the vehicle, and the other person is responsible for controlling the weapon platform on the vehicle to achieve combat effectiveness. It can be used alongside other large equipment. Acting as a "loyal wingman" against drones with unmanned vehicles, it can also be used unattended in border areas, or follow infantry squads to provide firepower, information and support.
