LaiDen-10 anti-radiation missile
Anti-radiation missiles, also known as anti-radar missiles, refer to missiles that use the electromagnetic radiation of the enemy's radar to guide them to destroy the enemy's radar and its carriers. In electronic countermeasures , it is the most effective weapon against radar hard-kill.
Active air-to-ground anti-radiation missiles are usually used to attack selected targets. Before launching, the target should be reconnaissance, and its coordinates and radiation parameters should be measured. After launching, the seeker continuously receives electromagnetic signals from the target and forms a control signal, which is transmitted to the actuator, so that the missile is automatically guided to the target. During the attack, if the attacked radar is turned off, the missile's memory device can continue to control the missile to fly to the target.
The Laiden-10 (LD-10) is a small - scale anti-radiation missile of the Chinese People's Liberation Army , which is a modified version of the Lightning-10 ( SD-10 ) medium-range air -to- air missile. It has a range of approximately 80 kilometers and a warhead weighing approximately 20 kilograms. It was unveiled at the Zhuhai Air Show in November 2012. The LD-10 and SD-10 missiles are common for some small fighters with insufficient external space. They can be equipped with LD-10 anti-radiation missile fighters. Operators only need to mount the LD-10 in one pylon position to be able to attack ground air defense systems of various mobile platforms from a considerable distance.
The early SD-10B medium-range air-to-air missile adopted an active and passive radar composite guidance system, which laid the technical foundation for the emergence of LD-10. Although domestic airborne anti-radiation missiles were suspended for a period of time, China has never stopped researching related technologies. Especially passive guidance radar, with the development of large-scale signal data processing systems, radio frequency storage technology and other technologies, domestic passive guidance systems are better than Russian related products in sensitivity and frequency range. For example, Eagle-91 multiple seekers are needed to deal with all targets. After the relevant system is transplanted to the SD-10, the LD-10 airborne anti-radiation missile is formed.
