LSM-90 "Elicura"

LSM-90 "Elicura" was the first ship constructed entirely in Chile in Talcahuano Industrial plant of Asmar, using the largest part of Chilean materials. It was officially delivered to the Navy on December 10, 1968,a nd given high by resolution C.J.A. Res. No 4520/11 of December 17, 1968.

LSM-94 "Orompello" was constructed in Miami Dade shipyard, Florida and transferred to Chile under the auspices of the P.A.M on September 15, 1964. On November 13,1964 he arrived at Valparaiso, commanded by her first Commander, Captain of Corbeta Francisco Vega Sotomayor.Named after the Araucanian Toqui Orompello, who was a brave warrior who distinguished himself by his cunning and bravery during the Spanish conquest.

During his service in the Navy Orompello served as permanent support to the community of the jurisdiction of the Commander in Chief of the third Naval zone, command of which depends from the 15 December 1964. Under its slogan "the value it conquers all", has complied with missions of amphibious operations, maintenance of maritime signalling, cargo transportation for people in the areas of Navarino and caleta Tortel, transportation of people in isolated areas.The transport of prefabricated from Valdivia to Puerto Toro houses stand out within their most significant missions and caleta Eugenio in 1970, transport of food, warm clothes and construction materials for the victims of the earthquake that struck the central part of the country in 1971, the transportation of construction materials to Quiriquina Island, in 1994, in support of the Commander in Chief of the second Naval zone, combined exercises of marítime rescue with the Navy of Argentina.
