Intrepida speedboats
Both boats were built in West Germany in 1970. They are known by the name of "speedboats" in recognition of the high speed that can develop. The automated guided torpedo is used; said cable is a communication channel between the gun and shot computerized control of the boat. Currently serving in the Southern Naval Area in Ushuaia, from where they operate by taking scenery channels and islands of the southern zone; hull and superstructure is painted matte black. In 1998, the Speedboat ARA "Fearless" 1 single assembly Breda Bofors 40 mm / 70 for one (1) double missile launcher Exocet MM · 38 was replaced. Speedboat ARA "Untamed" was in Shipyard Almirante Storni (Buenos Aires) for repowering project and modernization of systems and sensors.
