Afghanistan - Pol-e-Khomri
Pol-e-Khomri is a city in Afghanistan and the capital of Baghlan Province. It has a population of approximately 60,000.
Pol-e-Khomri Provincial Reconstruction Team
The Hungarian military received command of the Pol-e-Khomri PRT from the Dutch on 30 September 2006. From there, a transition period began that will see the PRT under complete Hungarian control by 1 April 2007. The contingent is composed of Soldiers from 29 units, some of which already have service experience in Afghanistan. Also on site are members of the Hungarian ministries of health, agriculture, and education. As of 18 January 2007, the PRT had successfully completed 55 projects, earning it an additional 500 million forints ($2.5 million) from the Hungarian government.
