Afghanistan - Nuristan
Nuristan is a province in eastern Afghanistan and was formed from parts of Laghman and Kunar provinces. Nuristan is located at the southern edge of the Hindu Kush mountains and borders Pakistan. Nuristan's proximity to Pakistan makes it a flashpoint for fighting between ISAF and forces of the Taliban and Al Qaeda.
Nuristan Provincial Reconstruction Team
The Nuristan PRT, opened on 21 November 2006, is a US facility under ISAF command.
