Command Destruct The LMAMS shall allow for a command destruct capability by the operator.T=O
CommunicationsThe LMAMS shall have a secure Digital Data Link (DDL). The LMAMS shall provide secure uplink and downlink, real-time, full motion video between Fire Control Unit (FCU) and missile by means of DDL. The system shall be able to hand off control of a missile in flight from one FCU to another without data transmission interference between the two FCU’s.
The LMAMS shall have a Digital Data Link (DDL) that is able to provide NSA Approved encryption. The system performance shall be resistant to degradation in the presence of EW and electronic countermeasures. The system shall be able to communicate with more than one missile simultaneously from a single FCU.
EnduranceThe LMAMS shall have a flight endurance of = 15 minutes in winds less than 10 knots and no precipitation.The missile shall have a flight endurance =25 minutes in winds up to 25 knots and light precipitation
Insensitive Munitions The LMAMS, in the soldier carried configuration, shall not detonate if hit by small arms fire or fragmentation.T=O
Lethality The LMAMS operator must be able to engage and incapacitate an enemy combatant in the open and or in a softskinned vehicle while minimizing the probability of permanent injury to nearby non-combatants. The LMAMS capability shall minimize collateral damage within 30m of the intended target. T=O The LMAMS capability shall minimize collateral damage within 15m of the intended target
Manueverability The LMAMS shall maneuver horizontally and vertically in all terrain beyond line of sight. If the LMAMS does not engage a target, then it shall be recoverable and able to be reflown upon return.
Range The LMAMS shall successfully engage a ground target at a range of up to 3 km with built-in Fire Control Unit (FCU) antenna and without manual antenna adjustment. The LMAMS shall successfully engage a ground target at a range of up to 10 km with manual antenna adjustment and/or auxiliary antennas. LMAMS shall successfully engage a ground target at a range of up to 20 km without antenna adjustment.
Single Operator LMAMS shall be transported, employed and operated by a single operatorT=O
Speed of EmploymentThe LMAMS shall be capable of being configured and ready to launch in =2 minutes from its stowed configuration. The LMAMS shall be capable of being configured and ready to launch in = 30 seconds from its stowed configuration.
Target Acquisition From 100 meter Above Ground Level (AGL), the LMAMS operator shall be able to recognize personnel during daytime operations in clear weather at a slant range of 250 meters. From 100 meter AGL, the LMAMS operator shall be able to recognize a vehicle target (sedan, pick up, or sport utility vehicle) during night time operations at a slant range of 200 meters. From 100 meter AGL, the LMAMS operator shall be able to recognize personnel during daytime operations in clear weather at a slant range of 500 meters. From 100 meter AGL, the LMAMS operator shall be able to detect and recognize personnel during night time operations at a slant range of 250 meters.
Target Wave-off The LMAMS operator shall have the ability to wave-off and redirect the flight path =4 seconds prior to impact. The system shall automatically disarm upon wave-off.T=O
