XM1051 Target Practice - Spotter
The XM1051 is a Flash bang round that is identical ballistics to XM1019 high explosive air-bursting round. It provides increased safety during fuze and system development with reduced Fuze and Systems Integration Test costs. It provides Realistic Training Without Fragmentation or Explosives Hazards.
As of May 2004 the XM1051 TP-S Cartridge was fully developed for demonstrations, with no design changes planned. The XM1051 would be the test bed for fuze development related to the XM1019 HEAB. This reduced fuze and systems integration test costs. Type classification for this round is not planned. GD-OTS will continue to support GDATP with XM1051 cartridges for XM307 weapon demonstration purposes.
