M29 81mm mortar
The M29 81mm mortar, like the 60mm mortar, is a smooth-bore, muzzle-loaded, high-angle, indirect fire weapon. It consists of a barrel, sight, bipod, and base plate. Unlike the 60mm mortar, there is no provision or need for the hand-held method. The M29 has a greater range, and its circular base plate allows for firing in any direction.
