Operation Scorpion Sting
Operation Scorpion Sting was part of Combined Joint Task Force 7 Operation Desert Scorpion.
During a June 16, 2003, neighborhood sweep, soldiers from the 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment found approximately nine tons of copper wire in in the Thawra neighborhood of Baghdad, in an area known as "Looter's Market." Coalitino soldiers discovered also found and confiscated three pistols, one rifle and two mortar rounds. The patrol also detained 31 suspected criminals.
