Lailaps
The medium-scale Greek Navy exercise code-named "Lailaps 2001" got underway on 23 April 2001 in various parts of the Aegean Sea. Exercise Lailaps [lah'-ee-laps, a fierce gale, gale, storm], to be held until April 27, also featured a memorial service held on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the sinking of Greek ships by the German air force.
