Eloquent Nugget
An important event in 1995 were the "Eloquent Nugget" exercises organised by the United States in August. Representatives of the foreign and defence ministries of 14 countries participating in the PfP's Planning and Evaluation Process (including a Polish delegation) rehearsed together with the Americans the organisational mechanism of a multilateral peace-keeping operation involving NATO and partner-state forces.
Eloquent Nugget 97 was conducted 15-27 June 1997 in Norfolk. Eloquent Nugget 1999 was conducted 8/13/99 through 8/29/99.
In March 1999 the US Army's Center for Strategic Leadership Peacekeeping Institute hosted the fourth NATO-Partnership for Peace Eloquent Nugget conference. Representatives from 18 nations focused on "Peace Support Operations,"Political- Military seminars conducted in conjunction with NATO,to explain how the U.S.Military interfaces with civilians in a democratic society.
Exercise Eloquent Nugget 01, sponsored by US Joint Forces Command (JFCOM), took place 13 July 2001 - 27 July 2001.
