Eastern Ready
Eastern Ready is an annual exercise that allows U.S. Navy reservists to activate, deploy and support Military Sealift Command [MSC] Atlantic as they would during a contingency.
Eastern Ready was designed to provide actual hands-on training to reservists in port operations during a crisis or contingency. More than 100 Naval Reservists participated in FY 2000.
Wilmington participated in two joint exercises during 1998: CALL FORWARD 98 on 22 April 1998, and EASTERN READY 98 from 12-17 May 1998. The PRC completed its semi-annual PRX in conjunction with MSC EASTERN READY 97.
EASTERN READY 01 was conducted 9-21 April 2001 at various Gulf of Mexico and US East Coast Ports.
