Battle Group Inport Exercise [BGIE]
The BGIE/ARGIE helps fleet personnel to achieve and maintain combat readiness. They are conducted over roughly a one week period with one week prior testing and a two day exercise. It is conducted for deploying carrier battle groups and ARGs. It is designed to be done just before COMPTUEX. The scenarios are broadcast from FCTCPAC to the home ports of participating units. Scenarios are tailored to meet training objectives of warfare commander staffs. Satellite voice communications and MUTTS connectivity are also integrated into the exercise to enhance the reality of the scenario. Link and communication connectivity testing alone have significant training value. Typical agenda: Phase one is architecture testing one to two weeks prior. Phase two is a dedicated week with two days of testing and three days of scenarios. Phase three and four are conducted prior to COMPTUEX to focus on any deficiencies. Phase five is conducted prior to JTFEX/SOC
