- Remember, time of flight is 11 seconds plus one second for trigger pull (regardless of range). That means 12 seconds or more to kill with a TOW!
- And, did you know that it takes seven or more blinks of the CVKI light to represent a kill? Four to six blinks represent a hit, but not a kill. One to three blinks indicate a near miss.
- Here's a tip on the 25mm: During operation, jarring and vibration may cause you to lose your boresight. If this occurs, this "G pattern" (see Figure 2) is an effective method of engagement with the 25mm.
- Don't forget that smoke, dust, fog, or anything that impairs your vision will decrease the range and effectiveness of the MILES.

- The "G" pattern allows you to quickly place the strike of the MILES laser beam on the target if your 25-mm boresight has slipped.
- Point No. 1 is the initital point of aim. If no kill, points No. 2 through 5 are subsequent points of aim.
- Hold each position for a full burst.
- If kill is verified, align reticle to center of mass of target.
- If still no hit, reverify boresight and trouble-shoot MILES.
