At least one person has been killed and five others sustained injuries when an Israeli drone carried out a strike in southern Lebanon, in the latest flagrant violation of a ceasefire agreement with the Arab nation.

The pan-Arab al-Mayadeen television news channel, citing Lebanon's‎ Ministry of Public Health, reported that the Israeli drone targeted a vehicle in the town of al-Numairiyah on Friday afternoon, killing one individual.

Five other people were also injured in the aerial raid.

Official and security sources in Lebanon, speaking on condition of anonymity, later identified the victim as Mohammad Hassan Shuaib.

The Israeli military later claimed in a statement that the man it killed earlier in the day in the airstrike in Lebanon was involved in advancing attacks against Israeli settlers.

Israeli artillery units also shelled the outskirts of the town of Ayta ash-Shaab.

On Friday morning, an Israeli helicopter dropped a bomb on a pickup truck before it exploded in the town of Kfar Kila. A drone also dropped a bomb on the town of Dahra, south of Lebanon.

Following significant losses sustained over nearly 14 months of conflict and the failure to meet its objectives in the offensive against Lebanon, Israel was compelled to accept a ceasefire with Hezbollah, which took effect on November 27.

Since then, Israeli forces have been launching attacks on Lebanon, including airstrikes, in breach of the ceasefire.

On January 27, Lebanon announced its decision to extend the ceasefire with Israel until February 18.

Although the deadline of February 18 has passed, Israel continues to maintain its occupation of five significant regions in southern Lebanon, namely Labbouneh, Mount Blat, Owayda Hill, Aaziyyeh, and Hammamis Hill, all situated near the border.

Lebanon has condemned the continued presence of Israeli military forces as a violation of the ceasefire agreement and the established timeline for withdrawal. Senior officials in Beirut have expressed their commitment to take "all necessary measures" to remove the occupying troops from the nation.
