  • Iraq: Two Americans Killed In Mosul RFE/RL 01 Nov 2003 -- Two Americans were killed and two others were wounded today when a roadside bomb exploded in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul. It was not immediately clear whether the victims were U.S. soldiers or civilians.

  • SRI LANKA POWER SHARING VOA 01 Nov 2003 -- The Sri Lankan government has reacted cautiously to power-sharing proposals presented by Tamil Tiger rebels, but says the proposals will lead to renewed peace talks. The rebels also say they are willing to end their six-month boycott of peace negotiations and rejoin efforts to end the two-decade long ethnic conflict.
  • ISRAEL/PALESTINIANS VOA 01 Nov 2003 -- Palestinian officials say Israeli troops shot and killed a young man in the West Bank city of Nablus Saturday. Meanwhile, many Israelis prepared to converge on a central square in Tel Aviv this evening (Saturday) for ceremonies marking the eighth anniversary of the assassination of Prime Minister Yitzak Rabin.
  • U-N/SIERRA LEONE/REFUGEES VOA 01 Nov 2003 -- The United Nations refugee agency, U-N-H-C-R, says it has resumed the repatriation of Sierra Leonean refugees from Liberia. The U-N-H-C-R put its operation on hold several months ago because of the dangerous situation in Liberia.
