- ATK and RUAG Munition Team to Pursue Specific Ammunition Opportunities ATK 06 Aug 2001 -- ATK (Alliant Techsystems) (NYSE: ATK) and RUAG Munition, Thun, Switzerland, said they have teamed to jointly pursue ammunition business opportunities in the U.S. and in selected international markets.
- Landing craft heavy contract awarded to BAE SYSTEMS BAE Systems 06 Aug 2001 -- BAE Systems has been selected to provide in-service support to the Royal Australian Navy's (RAN) Landing Craft Heavy (LCH) in Cairns and Darwin.
- Boeing Awarded C-22B Replacement Contract Boeing 06 Aug 2001 -- The U.S. Air Force has ordered a C-40 aircraft from The Boeing Company to begin replacement of the Air National Guard's C-22B aircraft. This is the second C-40 aircraft ordered by the USAF under the contract established with Boeing in February 2001.
- General Dynamics Awarded $66 Million Army Robotic Research Agreements General Dynamics 06 Aug 2001 -- General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) has entered into an asset purchase agreement with Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT) to acquire Motorola’s Integrated Information Systems Group for $825 million in cash and the assumption of certain liabilities and ongoing obligations in the normal course of business.
- General Dynamics Extends Tender Offer for all Outstanding Shares of Newport News Shipbuilding General Dynamics 06 Aug 2001 -- General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) today extended its pending tender offer for all outstanding shares of common stock (including associated rights) of Newport News Shipbuilding Inc. (NYSE: NNS) to midnight, EDT, on August 17, 2001. The offer was previously scheduled to expire at midnight, EDT, on August 3, 2001.
- Army TACMS Block II Missile Developed By Lockheed Martin Successfully Completes Developmental Test Lockheed Martin 06 Aug 2001 -- The Army Tactical Missile System (Army TACMS) Block II Missile, developed by Lockheed Martin, successfully dispensed 13 tactical Brilliant Anti-Armor (BAT) submunitions during Developmental Test-5 (DT-5). The test was conducted July 21 at White Sands Missile Range, N.M.
- Lockheed Martin Delivers 500th ATACMS Block IA Missile Ahead of Schedule Lockheed Martin 06 Aug 2001 -- Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control delivered the 500th Army Tactical Missile System (Army TACMS) Block IA Missile to the U.S. Army on July 26th. All 500 missiles were delivered ahead of schedule.
- Northrop Grumman's Land Combat Systems Unit Delivers Key Software for Comanche Program Northrop Grumman 06 Aug 2001 -- The first Target Acquisition System Software (TASS) for the U.S. Army's RAH-66 Comanche helicopter has been delivered ahead of schedule to the mission equipment package integrator, The Boeing Company, by Northrop Grumman Corporation's (NYSE:NOC) Land Combat Systems business unit.
- Northrop Grumman Delivers 11th Joint STARS Aircraft, The First With Commercial-Off-The-Shelf Technology Northrop Grumman 06 Aug 2001 -- Northrop Grumman Corporation's (NYSE:NOC) Integrated Systems Sector (ISS) delivered the first Block 20 E-8C Joint Surveillance Target Attack Radar System (Joint STARS) production aircraft to the U.S. Air Force today, more than three weeks ahead of schedule.
