• U.S. Navy Conducts Live Warhead Firing of Boeing SLAM ER Boeing 02 Feb 2000 -- The U.S. Navy recently launched a Boeing Standoff Land Attack Missile Expanded Response (SLAM ER) against the decommissioned cruiser USS Dale CG-19 at an offshore test range near Puerto Rico. The mission was designed to validate missile guidance and warhead effectiveness against a surface target under operational conditions.

At the same time federal forces continue to build up their grouping at the foothills and parts, controlled by paratroopers.

• Sea Launch Signs with PanAmSat for Launch of Advanced Galaxy IIIC Boeing 02 Feb 2000 -- Sea Launch and the PanAmSat Corporation (NASDAQ: SPOT) announced their agreement for Sea Launch to deploy up to five new spacecraft using the Sea Launch rocket and launch platform. The agreement calls for the launch of the advanced Galaxy IIIC during the second quarter of 2001 and provides PanAmSat with the option for four additional Sea Launch missions through 2003.
