Combat Service Support Group-1
Combat Service Support Group-1 was redesignated as Combat Service Support Battalion-10
Combat Service Support Group-1 provides combat service support to I MEF units based at Marine Corps Air-Ground Combat Center [MCAGCC], to the Exercise Support Division at MCAGCC, and provide logistical support to 23rd Dental Company. CSSG-1 will also provide combat service support to MCAGCC and other units as directed by the Commanding General, 1st Force Service Support Group. It provides intermediate maintenance (3rd echelon) on engineer, motor transport, and ordnance (AAV/LAV and M82A1A and M40A1 Sniper Rifles) equipment. It also provides intermediate maintenance (3rd and 4th echelon) on communications-electronic and all other ordnance equipment, and provides overflow 4th echelon maintenance on ordnance equipment (AAV/LAV) when directed.
Combat Service Support Group-1 was activated 30 August 1976 at 29 Palms, as Detachment A, 1st Force Service Support Group, Fleet Marine Force. Detachment A, was redesignated December 1989 as Combat Service Support Detachment 12. CSSD-12 was redesignated August 1991 as 1st Force Service Support Group (Forward). And 1st FSSG (FWD) redesignated 12 October 1992 as Combat Service Support Group-1.
