615th Air Mobility Squadron [615th AMS]
The mission of the 615th AMS is to provide professional deployable teams to extend AMC's mobility structure to meet America's worldwide objectives.
The unit provides forward AMC command and control, cargo movement, and aircraft maintenance in support of National Command Authority directed contingency operations, humanitarian relief, and joint/unified exercises.
The 615th Air Mobility Squadron is a diverse mix of people from many AFSC's ranging from Command & Control, Maintenance, Aerial Port, Aircrew and Computer Technicians. The squadron's deployable teams vary in size and purpose.
The Tanker Airlift Control Element (TALCE) is the unit's largest and main deployable team made up of all specialties. It is designed to operate medium to large AMC transportation hubs or locations. The Mission Support Team (MST) is the smaller deployable team designed to operate in smaller operations.
Each of these can be augmented by other teams, such as a security forces team from the 60th AMW or other bases. Additionally, subsets of the 615th TACLE or MST teams (e.g. maintenance or aerial port teams) can be deployed as its own team supporting existing enroute bases or other deployed TALCEs or task forces.
The teams help form the backbone of AMC's rapid global mobility mission.
