534th TRS - Electro-Mechanical Team [534th TRS - EMT]

The 532nd Training Squadron, Electro-Mechanical Team (EMT) section at Vandenberg AFB, CA, teaches a formal operational course that prepares new students to maintain a nuclear arsenal of 500 Minuteman and Peacekeeper ICBMs.

The school produces an average of 60 EMT technicians a year. The duration of the course is 71 academic days, in which time a student will complete 12 blocks of instruction/ training in several areas such as power generation and distribution systems, command and control systems, access systems, and security systems for both the Minuteman and Peacekeeper ICBMs.

When students graduate from the course they will be stationed at F.E. Warren AFB, WY, Malmstrom AFB, MT, or Minot AFB, ND.

As of mid-2001, EMT employed nine highly qualified instructors.
