4th Air Operations Support Squadron [4th ASOS]
The mission of the 4th Air Support Operations Squadron is to provide the Operational to Tactical Command and Control of airpower as allocated and directed by the JFACC.
The 4th ASOS is also tasked with providing liaison between the JFACC and Allied ground force commander (primarily V Corps), by tasking, coordinating, and controlling close air support, air interdiction, and tactical air reconnaissance sorties.
The 4th ASOS provides support to the V Corps Headquarters. Detachment 1, 4th ASOS, supports SETAF 173rd Brigade; Detachment 2, 4th ASOS, supports 7 ATC Headquarters; while Detachment 3, 4th ASOS, supports 11 AVN and CMTC.
