16th Electronic Warfare Squadron [16th EWS]
The 16th Electronic Warfare Squadron forms the core cadre of Combat Air Forces fighter and bomber electronic warfare maintenance experts for avionics modification, test, and sustainment.
The unit assesses maintainability, reliability, and readiness of warfighter's EW systems and support equipment through the Combat Shield program.
The 53rd EWS is also responsible for flight line EW maintenance support for three flying groups' unique test-configured airframes and EW pods.
