SSN 697 Indianapolis

Indianapolis (SSN-697) was laid down by Newport News Shipbuilding & Drydock Co., Newport News, VA 19 October 1974; launched 30 July 1977; sponsored by Mrs. William G. Bray; and commissioned 5 January 1980 with Cdr Harry P. Salmon, Jr. in command.

Last homeported at Pearl Harbor, she was decommissioned and stricken 22 December 1998 and berthed at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard.
