LSD 40 Fort Fisher
Fort Fisher (LSD-40) was laid down 15 July 1970 by General Dynamics, Quincy MA, launched 22 Apr 1972, and commissioned 9 Dec 1972.
She was decommissioned and stricken 27 Feb 1998 and laid up with the Suisan Bay Reserve Fleet at Benecia CA. She is marked for disposal through the Security Assistance Program (SAP) as a foreign military sale.
