CB-6 Samoa
The USS Samoa (CB-6) was ordered on 9 September 1940 from New York Shipbuilding Corp., Camden, N.J. She was scheduled for completion by 1 December 1946, however, all the materials needed for her construction were unavailable. The large cruiser was postponed until she was no longer required. USS Samoa's construction was cancelled on 24 June 1943.
