I Corps Artillery
In September 2008, I Corps Artillery was inactivated as part of the modular transformation of the US Army. The Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, I Corps Artillery was reflagged as the Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 65th Fires Brigade, Utah Army National Guard.
The mission of I Corps Artillery was to deploy to a Theater of Operations to Coordinate Fires in Support of Contingency Operations. It provided Command and Control Field Artillery Units retained directly under I Corps. The I Corps Artillery state mission was to provide MACOM Command and Control of the field artillery units located in Utah. It also provided civil security support during emergency operations due to natural disasters or civil disturbances.
