95th Military Police Battalion
The mission of the 95th Military Police Battalion is to deploy and direct military police operations in support of regional military objectives and operational requirements; provides professional law enforcement and ceremonial support throughout US Army Europe (USAREUR).
The 95th Military Police Battalion was first constituted on 8 June 1945 in the Army of the United States as Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 95th Military Police Battalion and activated on 8 July 1945 in Germany. It was inactivated on 24 June 1946 in Germany.
The unit was allotted on 24 October 1950 to the Regular Army and activated on 30 October 1950 in Korea. Serving in the Korean War, the unit recieved credit for participation in 9 campaigns there: UN Offensive, CCF Intervention, First UN Offensive, CCF Spring Offensive, UN Summer-Fall Offensive, Second Korean Winter, Korea Summer-Fall 1952, Third Korean Winter, and Korea Summer 1953. After the Armistice, the Battalion was subsequently inactivated on 15 August 1954 in Korea.
Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 95th Military Police Battalion was reactivated 25 November 1965 at Fort Riley, Kansas. Subsequently deployed to Vietnam, the Battalion participated in 15 campaigns there: Counteroffensive, Counteroffensive Phase II, Counteroffensive Phase III, Tet Counteroffensive, Counteroffensive Phase IV, Counteroffensive Phase V, Counteroffensive Phase VI, Tet 69/Counteroffensive, Summer-Fall 1969, Winter-Spring 1970, Sanctuary Counteroffensive, Counteroffensive Phase VII, Consolidation I, Consolidation II, and Cease-Fire. After returning from Vietnam, the unit was inactivated on 13 April 1972 at Fort Lewis, Washington.
The unit was reactivated on 21 March 1973 in Germany. Companies A, B, and C were concurrently constituted and activated, but were then inactivated between 30 June 1976 and 21 June 1977 in Germany.
As of 2013, the 95th Military Police Battalion consisted of the Headquarter and Headquarters Detachment and the 92nd, 230th, and 529th Military Police Companies. As part of continuing restructuring of US forces in Europe, it was announced on 1 March 2013 that Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 95th Military Police Battalion, along with the 230th Military Police Company, would be inactivated during 2014.
