92nd Military Police Battalion

The 92nd Military Police Battalion was first constituted on 8 June 1945 in the Army of the United States as Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 92nd Military Police Battalion and activated on 23 June 1945 in France. The Battalion was inactivated on 25 February 1946 in Belgium.

The Battalion was allotted on 14 September 1950 to the Regular Army and activated in Korea. During the Korean War, the Battalion participated in 9 campaigns: UN Defensive, UN Offensive, CCF Intervention, First UN Counteroffensive, CCF Spring Offensive, UN Summer-Fall Offensive, Second Korean Winter, Korea Summer-Fall 1952, and Third Korean Winter. After the end of the war, the Battalion was inactivated on 20 March 1953 in Korea.

The Battalion was reactivated on 15 September 1961 at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. The unit deployed the Dominican Republic in 1965 as part of Operation Power Pack. It subsequently deployed to Vietnam participating in 10 campaigns: Counteroffensive, Counteroffensive Phase II, Counteroffensive Phase III, Tet Counteroffensive, Counteroffensive Phase IV, Counteroffensive Phase V, Counteroffensive Phase VI, Tet 69/Counteroffensive, Summer-Fall 1969, and Winter-Spring 1970. The Battalion was inactivated on 5 February 1970 in Vietnam.

The Battalion was reactivated on 16 April 1990 in Panama with personnel from Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 92nd Military Police Battalion (Provisional). The Battalion took part in Operation Just Cause in Panama. It was inactivated on 15 October 1997 in Panama.

The Battalion was reactivated on 17 April 2006 at Fort Benning, Georgia. As part of the transformation of the US Army to the modular force structure and subsequent realignments, the Battalion moved to Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. The 4th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade, activated in 2008, gained Training and Readiness Authority for the Battalion, though it technically remained assigned to US Army Forces Command (FORSCOM).
