69th Chemical Company
The 69th Chemical Company was oignally constituted on 16 May 1942 in the Army of the United States as the 69th Chemical Smoke Generator Company. It activated on 20 June 1942 at Camp Haan, CA. It inactivated on 26 November 1945 at Camp Patrick Henry, VA.
Allotted on 15 December 1948 to the Regular Army, it activated on 13 January 1949 at the Army Chemical Center, MD. The unit was reorganized and redesignated on 4 March 1954 as the 69th Chemical Company. It inactivated on 20 December 1969 at Fort Benning, GA.
The unit was assigned on 21 September 1979 to the 1st Armored Division and activated in Germany, where it inactivated on 15 November 1991.
The unit reactivated on 16 February 1997 in Germany.
