The 68th Engineer Company (Combat Support Equipment) is a separate company attached to the 62nd Battalion since 9 June 1993.

The 68th Engineer Company (CSE) was first constituted on 1 April 1927 in the Organized Reserves as the 710th Engineer Depot Company. It was organized in October 1929 at Cleveland, Ohio. The unit was redesignated on 20 August 1931 as the 710th Engineer Company and inactivated on 1 January 1938 at Cleveland, Ohio. At that time it was concurrently withdrawn from the Organized Reserves and allotted to the Regular Army.

It was redesignated on 1 April 1942 as the 710th Engineer Depot Company and again on 29 May 1943 as the 710th Engineer Base Depot Company. It was activated on 21 June 1943 at Camp Claiborne, Louisiana and inactivated on 2 December 1945 at Camp Myles Standish, Massachusetts.

The unit was redesignated on 29 April 1947 as the 68th Engineer Base Depot Company and activated on 15 March 1948 on Okinawa. It was inactivated on 1 June 1949 on Okinawa.

The unit was again redesignated on 11 September 1950 as the 68th Engineer Depot Company and activated 22 September 1950 at Granite City, Illinois. It was reorganized and redesignated 1 February 1953 as the 68th Engineer Company and inactivated 13 May 1955 in Korea.

It was again activated on 1 June 1956 in Germany and inactivated on 1 September 1965 in Germany. On 25 June 1966 the unit was reactivated in France. It was inactivated on 20 June 1976 at Fort Bliss, Texas.

On 1 June 1993 the unit was activated at Fort Hood, Texas. The company deployed along the border of Arizona in April 1994 in support of Joint Task Force-6 (JTF-6). After October 1994, the Company deployed platoons regularly with both 1st Cavalry Division and 4th Infantry Division to the National Training Center.
