648th Engineer Battalion
The mission of the 648th Engineer Battalion (Sapper) is to mobilize, conduct post-mobilization training, and deploy rapidly to a contingency area by air, sea and land, to provide continuous mobility, counter mobility, and survivability support for mobile combined arms operations worldwide.
The 648th Engineer Battalion was organized on 1 October 1993 in the Georgia Army National Guard from existing units in eastern Georgia as the 648TH Engineer Battalion (Sapper), with Headquarters at Statesboro, and assigned to the 48TH Infantry Brigade.
